That was such a tricky ball by the Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon in the first Ashes Test. Chris Woakes bowled out without scoring any run. The whole England team all-out on 302 runs in the first innings. Nathan Lyon took 2 wickets in the innings.
The potholes may be troubling Starc, but this wicket is all about them and Lyon’s ability. Throws it up floatingly outside off, invites the drive, Woakes takes the bait, but he hasn’t accounted for the footmarks, the ball dips, beats his shot and turns from there to clip the stumps. Classic offie’s wicket made more special by the fact, that he has got it from round the wicket instead of over.
