The 42 years old Imran Tahir seems to be in great form in the ongoing tournament “The Hundred”, as he picked the first hat-trick of the tournament against Welsh Fire.

After winning the toss, the skipper of Welsh Fire have decided to bowl first, but that decision backfired on him. The Birmingham Phoenix, which is led by Moeen Ali scored 184 in the 100 balls. 

Will Sneed scored unbeaten 65 from 28 balls and the skipper Moeen Ali was just outstanding with the bat, as he smashed 59 from just 28 balls with the help of 5 sixes. Liam Livingstone also scored 31 off just 18 deliveries. David Payne, the left-arm fast bowler picked 3 wickets for the Welsh Fire after conceding 38 runs in 20 balls.

While chasing a huge target of 185, Adam Milne the kiwi pacer gave the early breakthrough to phoenix by dismissing Tom Banton for duck. After that it’s all about the 42 years old leg-spinner Imran Tahir, he dismissed man in form Glenn Philips and Lues Du Plooy in the same over.

The hat-trick incident happened on 72th,73th and 74th delivery of the match. He dismissed Qais Ahmed, M Milnes and D Payne in 3 consecutive balls to claim the hattrick along with his five-wicket haul.

Tahir also completed his 400 wickets in this match in his T20 career, he became only second bowler to achieve this landmark after the Windies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.

Benny Howels also picked 2 wickets for the phoenix and they thrashed Welsh Fire by a huge margin of 93 runs to claim the top position in points table of “The Hundred”. Imran Tahir is declared as player of the match for his outstanding bowling performance.
