This is the first time that Afghanistan has defeated Pakistan in any format of international cricket. In response to Pakistan’s score of 92 runs, Afghanistan lost 4 wickets and achieved victory in 17.5 overs. Nabi was chosen as the player of the match for his brilliant performance.
Afghanistan had a poor start in pursuit of the target, losing the first wicket at a total score of 23 runs. Four wickets fell as they reached 45 runs. Then Mohammad Nabi and Najibullah Zadran came together to stabilize the innings and shared a partnership of 53 runs for the fifth wicket.
The 38-year-old Nabi scored an unbeaten 38 runs off 38 balls with the help of three fours and a six, while Zadran scored an unbeaten 17 runs. In his debut match for Pakistan, Ihsanullah took two wickets, while Nasim Shah and Shadab Khan each took one wicket.
