Trinbago Knight Riders player Akeal Hosein has just raised the height of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League by his next level athleticism that he showed while taking a catch in the most recent match in the tournament. In the match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors, the fielder took an astonishing single handed catch to shock everyone. However, Guyana Amazon Warriors had the last laugh and ended up winning the match. The catch by Akeal Hossein, will be remembered for a long time though.

Trinbago Knight Riders won the toss and opted to field first. Coming on to open, Brandon King and Chandrapul Hemraj of Amazon departed early after scoring 9 and 13 runs respectively. Definitely not a start that the batting team would’ve wanted. Fortunately for them, Shimron Hetmyer then came in to take charge of the innings and scored a brilliant fifty in just 41 deliveries. His knock was short lived and he departed shortly after completing his half century. It was then upto Nicholas Pooran to finish off their innings in style but Akeal Hosein, who was fielding at the boundary, had other plans.

Playing against Ravi Rampaul, Nicholas Pooran went for maximum. Akeal Hoesin, who was standing inches away from the boundary, sensed that the bowl was way out of his reach but he decided to give it a try. He stretched his one hand way beyond an average person could and lifted his feet off the ground. Surprisingly the ball got stuck in his hand but the momentum was just too much. Akeal Hosein was just about to get thrown out of the boundary by his own momentum but he changed his posture mid air and kneeled down just a few whiskers away from the boundary line, the ball safely landing in his hand. An amazing catch indeed that forced every fan to rise up on their field to applaud the athleticism.
