Many of the participating teams have already started announcing their final squads for the much awaited tournament. However, there has been a huge hype and a cloud of confusion regarding the squad of Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. After much stipulation, BCCI has now confirmed that they will be announcing India’s final squad after the 4th test of the ongoing series between India and England is done with. Till then, the Board will make some final tweaks and changes and they will firmly reconsider their decisions.
However, sports media and news outlet Sports Tak has come up with their predicted squad of Team India for the 2021 T20 World Cup and they are pretty sure that there will be little to no changes in the final list.
The 15-man squad of India predicted by Sports Tak looks like this:
- Virat Kohli (C)
- Rohit Sharma (VC)
- KL Rahul
- Suryakumar Yadav
- Rishabh Pant
- Hardik Pandya
- Ravindra Jadeja
- Yuzvendra Chahal
- Jasprit Bumrah
- Mohammed Shami
- Bhuvneshwar Kumar
- Deepak Chahar
- Mohammed Siraj
- Shreyas Iyer
- Washington Sundar or Ravichandran Ashwin or Rahul Chahar or Varun Chakravarthy
The squad looks overall balanced and strong. However, the middle order and bowling might be a problem for India if none of the main team players click under pressure.
