Punjab Kings might not have had a great IPL season but they have given rise to some of the best Indian talents in their bowling department. Two of their pacers – Arshdeep Singh and Ravi Bishnoi, especially Ravi Bishnoi are young and energetic and are both great with the ball. Ravi Bishnoi has caught the attention of the Cricket fans all over the world and so far so that he is even being considered for selection in India’s T20 World Cup squad. Mind you that he is just 23 years of age !
Even in today’s match between KKR and Punjab Kings, Ravi Bishnoi hasn’t failed to impress the masses. As soon as he came in, he took the big wicket of KKR opener Venkatesh, who is also their man in form currently, with a boombazle of a delivery which many are referring to as Banana delivery. He also took another big wicket in Rahul Tripathi, who is arguably KKR’s second best batsman in the second phase of IPL 2021. So he took a total of 2 wickets in his 4 overs and that too with an economy of just 5.50. Incredible !
However, when talking about influential young bowlers, Arshdeep Singh doesn’t fall way back behind. He has also been equally good this season. Even in today’s match he simply dominated the KKR batting unit and sent off Shubman Gill just a few minutes into the match with a peach Banana delivery.
However, KKR managed to put up a total of 167 runs, which can be considered to be a decent first innings score at the Dubai International stadium given the fact that Kolkata have not played there enough.
Punjab Kings might have a jam-packed batting lineup but they have had a habit of bottling in tough situations like that of today and they might repeat it against KKR.
