MI are back to winning ways after defeating PBKS by 7 wickets at Abu Dhabi. MI jumped to the 5th position in the points table after collecting two points from the match. Hardik Pandya returned back to his form by scoring an unbeaten 40 off 30 deliveries. Kieron Pollard was awarded the man of the match award for picking up two wickets and scoring an unbeaten 15 off 7 deliveries.

While chasing the total, MI lost two early wickets as Ravi Bishnoi removed Rohit and Suryakumar in two deliveries. Quinton De Kock was also removed by Mohammad Shami who knocked his stumps off. However, Saurabh Tiwary and Hardik Pandya made some valuable contributions for the team.

MI’s batsmen Saurabh Tiwary who made it into the team in place of Ishan Kishan managed to score 45 off 37 deliveries which included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Saurabh Tiwary was the only other MI batsmen apart from Hardik who looked totally in control.

While batting in the 12th over, the southpaw was hit by Arshdeep Singh with the ball. On the 4th ball of the over, Tiwary padded back a straight ball from the left-arm seamer from Punjab back to him. Arshdeep, seeing that Saurabh was a couple of feet out of his crease, decided to throw the ball at the stumps. Saurabh Tiwary was down for a few minutes after the ball hit him. Arshdeep immediately ran towards Tiwary and apologized to him for his unnecessary throw. Punjab skipper KL Rahul and Mandeep Singh ran towards the batsmen for checking him out.

Saurabh was fine after a few minutes and was on his feet. He hit a four off the very next delivery.
