Following their defeat in the initial match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the UP Warriorz encountered a tough beginning with the bat as they faced the bowling attack of the Delhi Capitals who chose to field first.
Marizanne Kapp from Delhi made significant inroads into the UP top order, resulting in a scorecard reading 21/3 by the close of the powerplay.
The struggles continued for the Warriorz as they lost Grace Harris and Kiran Navgire, leaving them at 79/5 after 14 overs. The situation worsened with Arundhati Reddy claiming the wicket of Poonam Khemnar, her celebratory antics adding to the woes of the UP side.
In the 15th over’s fifth delivery, Arundhati delivered a full toss which Poonam deftly scooped towards short fine leg. Positioned there, Shikha Pandey effortlessly grasped the catch, leading to Poonam’s dismissal.
