Karthik attempted to score one run off Jordan’s delivery, but unfortunately, the ball was dropped. Jordan had cleverly disguised a slower delivery, tricking Karthik, who hit the ball too early and sent it soaring into the air.

In his effort to make the shot, Karthik even lost his grip on the bat handle. Green, who was positioned at long-off, had a simple catch to make, but he failed to hold onto the ball, resulting in a missed opportunity for their team.

Akash Madhwal delivered an outstanding final over, relying on his yorkers and conceding just 6 runs, a stark contrast to his opening over where he gave away 17 runs. Despite a shaky start, losing Kohli and Anuj Rawat to Jason Behrendorff, RCB managed to post a formidable total of 199.

Behrendorff almost had Faf out for a golden duck, but a dropped catch at mid-wicket by Nehal Wadhera proved costly as Kohli and Maxwell went on the attack. The two overseas players smashed half-centuries and shared a 100+ partnership, their fourth of the season.

At the end of the 12th over, RCB were well-placed at 131/2, looking set for a massive total. However, Mumbai came back strongly, taking three wickets in three overs, including both set batters. Dinesh Karthik’s quickfire 30 couldn’t push RCB past the 200-run mark. The victory would elevate the winner to the third spot on the points table.
