Fabian Allen takes a stunner: West Indies had already won their ongoing T20 series against Australia by sealing consecutive victories in the first 3 matches. They further extended their dominance over Australia by securing yet another convincing win in the 5th and final match of the series. They have won it 4-1. The Carribeans made an exceptional comeback after their defeat in the first match.

In the match being played at Beausejour Stadium, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first. They might noy have gotten a desirable start after opener Andre Fletcher departed early after making only two runs, but Evin Lewis took charge of their innings from there and played a sensational knock of 79 off 34. West Indian Captain Nicholas Pooran was their second best batsman of the night scoring 31 off 18 and with that, the Carribeans were able to put up a humongous score of 199/8 in their allocated 20 overs.
Coming in to chase, the Aussies tried a lot but fell short by just 16 runs in a match that saw a thrilling end. Opener Josh Phillips departed for a duck, but that didn’t bother Australia a lot as Captain Aaron Finch and Mitchell Marsh were there to keep their hopes up. Although none of the Aussie batsmen managed to score beyond 50, everyone of the scored a couple of runs to pile up a score of 183/9. Australia lacked a proper finisher and lost the match due to poor performance of the tailenders.

During Australia’s innings, West Indian bowler Fabian Allen took a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Australian captain Aaron Finch. Finch was looking to be in form and had it not been for Fabian Allen’s individual brilliance, the scenes of the match could’ve been a lot more different.
