On Wednesday, Hanuma Vihari demonstrated exceptional bravery by stepping up to bat with a broken wrist and batting one-handed against Madhya Pradesh. Not every batter has the fortitude to put their team first, even after sustaining an injury. Vihari’s act showcases the utmost level of determination and courage.

By the end of day 2 in the quarterfinal of the Ranji Trophy 2022/23, Andhra Pradesh held a 235-run lead over Madhya Pradesh. Ricky Bhui and Karan Shinde contributed centuries to Andhra’s first innings total of 379 in Indore. However, it was Hanuma Vihari’s valiant performance at the bat that garnered the most attention.

Vihari suffered a wrist injury after batting at number three and was forced to leave the field. Given the severity of the injury, it was assumed that he would not return to bat again. However, the captain stunned everyone by walking back onto the field with his broken wrist, displaying remarkable bravery.

He chose to bat left-handed and played with only one hand. Despite being dismissed for 27, Vihari’s innings earned widespread appreciation for his courage. The Twitter community also praised the batter for his commitment to playing for the state team.
