During the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings on Friday, Hasan Ali’s exceptional fielding skills left a lasting impression. Irfan Khan was in excellent form and had already scored 30 runs off 20 deliveries when he attempted another big shot but mistimed it slightly.
The ball soared high in the air, seemingly headed for a six. However, Hasan had different plans. He executed a flawless catch right on the boundary’s edge, and with a swift throw to Rassie Van Der Dussen, he completed the dismissal before crossing the boundary line. Although the third umpire checked the catch, it was confirmed as perfectly executed.
Karachi Kings’ Imad Wasim stole the spotlight with an outstanding knock of 92 off 54 balls, propelling his team to a formidable total of 201. Karachi got off to a strong start, accumulating 61 runs in the power play overs despite losing three wickets. The batsmen continued to keep the run rate steady.
Wasim teamed up with Irfan Khan to form an impressive partnership of 99 runs, which was eventually broken due to a fantastic fielding effort. The Islamabad United bowlers struggled with their line and length, with Tom Curran being the standout bowler, taking two wickets for 43 runs.
At present, Karachi Kings are placed fifth in the league table with only two wins from their seven matches, while Islamabad United have a slightly better position with three wins in five matches.
