In the Qualifier 2 of IPL 2023, held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bowl first. Wriddhiman Saha was the first wicket to fall for the Gujarat Titans.
However, Mumbai Indians faced a challenging situation as Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan effortlessly scored runs all around the park. Gill achieved his fifth half-century of the season in just 32 balls and continued to dominate the GT bowlers with ease during the middle overs. He quickly surpassed his third century of the season in just 49 balls and continued to accelerate his innings.
This match marks the third encounter between these two teams this season. Due to unexpected heavy rains at the venue, the toss was delayed, causing fans to eagerly await the start of the match. Eventually, the toss took place at 7.45 pm, and the match commenced at 8 pm, half an hour later than the originally scheduled time.
In their previous match, the Gujarat Titans emerged victorious by a margin of 55 runs, with Shubman Gill shining with a half-century. Notably, Noor Ahmad took three wickets for the Gujarat Titans in that game. However, in Match 57, Mumbai Indians sought revenge by defeating the Gujarat Titans by 27 runs. Suryakumar Yadav played an outstanding unbeaten innings of 103 runs off 49 balls, while Akash Madhwal took three wickets for Mumbai Indians.
