Following a strong start within the powerplay, the Capitals amassed a total of 174 runs in the first innings. In response, the Kings began similarly well until Ishant Sharma intervened, dismissing Shikhar Dhawan and executing an exceptional run-out to dismiss an unlucky Jonny Bairstow.
During the fifth ball of the fourth over, Ishant delivered a well-directed good length delivery aimed at the middle stump, which Prabhsimran drove straight down the line with precision.
Reacting swiftly, Sharma attempted to stretch to his right to catch the ball but only managed to get his fingertips to it. The ball ricocheted onto the stumps at the non-striker’s end with Bairstow attempting to make his way back to safety.
The on-field umpire referred the decision to the TV umpire, Alex Wharf, who confirmed a clear contact with the ball, resulting in Bairstow falling just short of reaching the crease.

As the final decision ruled Bairstow out, the Twitter community erupted in admiration for the 35-year-old’s athleticism.
