WATCH : Mirza Tahir Baig endures tragic double whammy as he collapses onto stumps

Sialkot struggled to reach a modest total of 119/8 in their second Super Eight match in Pakistan’s National T20 Cup, which Abbottabad chased down comfortably. Amidst the disappointment, the standout performance came from young opener Mirza Tahir Baig, who scored a brisk 38 off 29 balls, including three boundaries and two maximums.

Baig’s contribution seemed to put his team in a promising position until an unfortunate incident changed the game’s dynamics for both him and the team.

During the 12th over, experienced campaigner Yasir Shah bowled a delivery slightly back of a length. Baig, aiming to capitalize on the opportunity, attempted a pull shot towards midwicket. However, the scorching Karachi heat had taken a toll on the 24-year-old, who was battling cramps.

As Baig shifted his weight onto his hind foot, his hamstring gave way, causing him to collapse in agony while attempting the shot. In the process, his arms dislodged the stumps, knocking the bails off as he tried to cushion his fall.

Baig, visibly in pain and deprived of the chance to lead his team’s batting charge, could only grimace as he reluctantly left the field.
