Chennai Braves secured a nail-biting victory against Northern Warriors at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in the Abu Dhabi T10 League, boosting their tally to two wins from four matches. Initially, the Angelo Mathews-led Warriors appeared dominant, setting a challenging target of 107 and swiftly taking wickets.

However, Sikander Raza’s explosive 27 runs off just 10 balls shifted the momentum. Despite Abhimanyu Mithun dismissing Raza with the equation at 10 runs off six balls, it wasn’t enough for the Warriors to clinch the win.

Despite the chaos during the game and Mithun’s commendable figures of 2-0-11-2, a significant incident occurred in the fifth over of the second innings that garnered global attention for both the bowler and the former Indian international.

During Mithun’s spell, he initially dismissed Bhanuka Rajapaksa but faced an unsettling moment when his delivery to Charith Asalanka was deemed a no-ball by the umpire.

Initially perceived as an unfortunate event, replays revealed that Mithun had significantly overstepped the crease by half a meter—a sizeable margin, reminiscent of the infamous no-ball controversy involving Mohammed Amir during the 2010 match-fixing scandal. Following the game, while Mithun faced intense scrutiny, there was no official statement from any party regarding the incident.
