Mitchell Starc dismisses Jason Mohammed: Australia thrashed West Indies in the first ODI of 3 match series.

The stand-by captain Alex Carey opted to bat first after winning the toss. The two debutant Philippe and B McDermott proved his decision right by putting 51 partnership for the first wicket. The skipper Alex Carey scored a brilliant 67 on his debut captaincy innings. Apart from that Ashton Turner scored 49 in the later part of the innings.

Australia scored 252/9 in 49 over , Hayden Walsh picked 5 wickets for the Windies.

While chasing the revised target of 257 from 49 over, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood goes through Indies top order by picking 6 wickets in just 35 runs in the first 10 over.

Mitchell Starc picked Evin Lewis in the very first ball of the second innings with a brilliant catch on his own. Then clean bowled Jason Mohammed with a classic in-swinger (typical Mitchell Starc’s delivery), sending the right hander off stump for a walk in the park.

S Hetmyer dismissed by Josh Hazlewood , Pooran fell lbw in the fifth over gone for duck by M Starc. West Indies were 23/5 then DW Bravo fell to Hazlewood in the sixth over and Hazlewood at one stage 3/3 after dismissing Jason Holder in that over.

Mitchell Starch picked 5/48 on the other hand J Hazlewood 3/11 in his 6 over.

Australia won the match by a massive margin of 133 runs in a rain affected match by DLS method.

The team will meet again in Friday for the second ODI at the same venue. West Indies will try to level the series on tge the other hand Australia will try to seal the series with one matches to go .
