Prior to the second Test against Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Friday, February 17, Mohammed Shami won the hearts of many. The fast bowler requested that the security personnel show kindness to a fan who had breached security in an attempt to meet the Indian cricketers.

Unfortunately, the fan was apprehended by security in the middle of the ground and was unable to meet any of the Indian cricketers. Concerning work matters, Shami made a comeback by taking three wickets in the first Test against Australia in Nagpur.

As a result, Team India won that match by an impressive margin of an innings and 132 runs, allowing them to take a 1-0 lead in the four-Test series. If the hosts can secure another triumph, they will have a chance to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

In the meantime, Pat Cummins, the captain of the Australian team, won the toss yet again and chose to bat first in the second Test.

The visitors made a few alterations, with Travis Head substituting Matt Renshaw and Mathew Kuhnemann making his Test debut. In the playing XI for India, the fit-again Shreyas Iyer took the place of Suryakumar Yadav.

Mohammed Shami dismissed David Warner with a remarkable delivery, causing Australia to lose their first wicket. Usman Khawaja is batting alongside Marnus Labuschagne. In a prior match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the visiting captain, Pat Cummins, won the toss and chose to bat. For this match, India has made a change by swapping out Suryakumar Yadav for Shreyas Iyer, while Australia has handed left-arm orthodox Matthew Kuhnemann his Test debut. Additionally, Cheteshwar Pujara will play his 100th Test in the Delhi game.
