During the 48th match of the 2021 edition of IPL between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings, Moises Henriques who as included in today’s game removed two batsmen in consecutive deliveries.
Winning the toss, Virat Kohli opted to bat first. Winning this match would book RCB’s berth for the playoffs this season. This would be RCB’s 8th victory of the season if they manage to do so. Whereas, KL Rahul’s PBKS are in need of a victory too. They are currently in the 5th position in the table with 10 points from 11 matches. A loss today would surely end their playoff hopes this year.
Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal went off to a flying start. The two managed to put up 55 runs on the board at the end of the powerplay overs without the loss of a single wicket. They put up 68 runs for first wicket before Moses Henriques removed Virat Kohli for 25 off 24 deliveries.
In the 10th over of the game, KL Rahul made a bowling change by bringing in Moses Henriques in search for a breakthrough. Henriques stood up to his expectations in the 4th ball of the over by removing RCB skipper Virat Kohli. Henriques’ bowled the perfect length and the perfect cutter for this pitch, with the ball staying low. Kohli went for a big slog sweep which knocked off his off stump.
Dan Christian was promoted up the order to bat at no.3. However, the promotion backfired. Christian gets a full one outside off, something he throws his hands out to slice, only for backward point to dive low in front and pouch a sharp one. Sarfaraz Khan took the catch to dismiss the new batsmen for a golden duck.
Henriques doesn’t stop here. He removed set batsmen Devdutt Padikkal in his next over.
