The Legends League Cricket 2023 has started in Dubai. The opening match of the tournament was played between Asia Lions and India Maharajas in Doha. Shahid Afridi won the toss and invited Maharajas to bat first.
After batting first, Asia’s team set a target of 166 runs with a loss of six wickets. India’s team started their innings steadily to achieve the target. In the meantime, Murali Vijay hit a six that left everyone in awe.
The first match of the Legends League Cricket 2023 was played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. In this match, Asia Lions faced off against India Maharaja. After winning the toss, Lions’ captain Shahid Afridi decided to bat first. The team presented a slow innings with 6 wickets lost, setting a target of 166 runs.
In response, the Maharaja team’s start was not particularly impressive, with opening batsman Robin Uthappa returning to the pavilion without scoring any runs. Murli Vijay came in to bat at number three and played a quick innings of 25 runs off 19 balls, including three fours and a six.
However, it was this six that caught everyone’s attention. In the fifth over of India’s innings, Perera bowled a short ball to Murli, who hit it for a massive six that went out of the stadium and got lost in the crowd. The video of this six has since gone viral on social media.
