Winning the toss, KL Rahul, the captain of Lucknow Super Giants, opted to bat first. However, both he and Quinton de Kock failed to provide a strong start as Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed the left-hander early, thanks to a spectacular effort at the boundary’s edge by Nitish.

After conceding 13 runs in the initial two overs, Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a good length ball outside the stumps, challenging the batsman with a short delivery.

De Kock took the bait and attempted to pull it towards deep square leg. Although he nearly cleared the ropes, Nitish, positioned right at the cushions’ edge, leaped and managed to flick the ball back into play while balancing himself outside the boundary lines, before coming back inside to secure the falling ball.

Nitish’s awareness of the boundary ropes and the agility he displayed in completing the catch garnered praise across Twitter.
