Former Pakistani cricket sensation Shoaib Akhtar remains an iconic figure in the sport, celebrated for his distinctive hairstyle and bowling style that set him apart. Revered as the “Rawalpindi Express,” Akhtar left an indelible mark as one of Pakistan’s most accomplished bowlers.

On September 6th, a video of Muhammad Imran, a fast bowler from Oman, gained widespread attention on social media. What caught everyone’s eye was Imran’s striking resemblance to Shoaib Akhtar during the early stages of his international career. Imran, a right-arm pacer, sported a hairstyle and bowling action reminiscent of Akhtar’s.

A user shared a clip of Imran on X (formerly known as Twitter) and remarked, “Oman’s speedster Muhammad Imran looks remarkably like Shoaib Akhtar during his early days. Even their bowling actions appear strikingly similar. Wishing him all the best.”

According to cricclubs.com, Imran has participated in 26 domestic matches, securing 29 wickets. In contrast, Shoaib Akhtar’s illustrious career saw him represent Pakistan in 46 Tests, 163 ODIs, and 15 T20Is, amassing a total of 444 wickets across different formats. He was a pivotal part of the squad that clinched the 2009 T20 World Cup.

Turning to Oman’s recent cricket endeavors, they fell short in their quest to qualify for the 2023 ODI World Cup in India, scheduled to take place from October 5th to November 19th. Although they won two group matches to reach the Super 6 stage, they were unable to secure any further victories.
