Sunrisers Hyderabad got off to a rough start, losing their top three batsmen during the powerplay while chasing a challenging target of 213 runs.

Tushar Deshpande, Chennai’s pace ace, made his mark by taking the crucial wickets of Travis Head, Anmolpreet Singh, and Abhishek Sharma.

Yet, Aiden Markram and Nitish Kumar Reddy steadied the ship, pushing the score to 53/3 by the end of the powerplay. Markram, especially, seemed to be settling in until Matheesha Pathirana changed the game with a remarkable delivery.

In the 11th over’s fifth ball, Pathirana unleashed a lightning-fast yorker clocked at 147 kmph. Despite Markram’s attempt to hit it forcefully towards long-on, he misjudged the delivery’s path, leading to the ball crashing into the stumps.

The speed of the delivery left the middle stump uprooted, and Markram had to walk back to the pavilion disappointed. Twitter was abuzz with praise for Pathirana’s exceptional bowling skills after this display.
