As Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium prepared to host its inaugural PSL match of the season, it was slated for a double header, featuring a high-profile clash between Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Despite the contrasting fortunes of the teams, with the Qalandars enduring a six-match losing streak, anticipation was high among fans who thronged to the stadium.

However, their excitement was dampened when the game faced delays due to a wet outfield. Matters took a turn for the worse as heavy rain ensued, resembling a thunderstorm.

Fans improvised to shield themselves from the downpour; some hoisted chairs over their heads while others came prepared with large tarpaulins to shelter groups of people.

Amidst the disappointment of the game being on the brink of a no-result, Twitter users couldn’t help but admire the inventive ways in which fans coped with the adverse weather conditions.
