On Day 3 of the first Test in Dominica, the West Indies had some positive moments on the field after a lackluster bowling performance the previous day. One standout player was Rahkeem Cornwall, who made a significant impact despite battling health concerns.

After being given the old Dukes ball following Lunch, Cornwall proved to be a dangerous threat. In a remarkable turn of events, he managed to dismiss Virat Kohli for a patient 76 off 182 deliveries, preventing him from scoring his 29th Test century. This achievement was even more impressive considering Cornwall’s physical condition during the match.

Cornwall had already showcased his bowling prowess on Day 1, where he demonstrated the ability to extract turn on a slow and dusty pitch. However, he had to leave the field after bowling only a few overs due to feeling unwell. It wasn’t until the beginning of Day 3 that he returned to action, having recovered enough to continue playing.

Following his delayed comeback, Cornwall was permitted to bowl again after Lunch. In just the second over of his spell, he faced a determined Kohli at the crease. Delivering a well-pitched ball, Cornwall produced sharp turn and an unexpectedly high bounce, catching Kohli off guard. Consequently, the experienced batsman instinctively glanced the ball off his waist straight into the hands of the leg slip fielder, much to the delight of the West Indies team.

The online community, particularly on Twitter, quickly praised Cornwall for his dedication to the game and his exceptional bowling skills. Social media platforms were flooded with reactions applauding his performance.
