WATCH : RCB’s misfielding chaos turns the match into backyard cricket drama

With Bengaluru winning the toss, captain Smriti Mandhana chose to field first in their penultimate league game. Openers Georgia Voll and Grace Harris started strong, taking on the new ball bowlers and continuing their attack on the spinners and medium pacers during the middle overs.

Despite Harris being run out, Voll maintained the pressure and was nearing a century as the innings moved into the final over. However, the spotlight quickly shifted to a fielding blunder, sparking a social media frenzy.

On the second ball of the last over, Charlie Dean delivered a fuller ball at the stumps, which Voll hammered to long off for a single.

But a misfield by Sneh Rana was followed by a wild throw over Dean’s head, giving the Warriorz duo the chance to steal a second run. The bowler attempted to stop the ball with a leap, but it was in vain.

Even the fielder backing up couldn’t make a clean throw, resulting in a series of schoolboy errors in the field. The Twitterati quickly caught wind of this slip-up, buzzing with reactions across social media.
