Rishabh Pant’s Dismissal

Rishabh Pant has finally played a great knock after a wait of many matches and this might just be the beginning of him regaining his old form. The power-hitter played a responsible knock in India’s second innings of the ongoing fourth test between India and England and it was due to his partnership with Shardul Thakur that India are now in a winning position in the match. However, Pant departed soon after completing his century after giving away his wicket cheaply to Moeen Ali and the frustration was clearly visible on the face of the youngster.

Rishabh Pant is usually known for his restlessness and courage on the pitch. His way of playing is often not the perfect approach in the longest format of the game but on a good day, he can single handedly lead his side to victory just like he did in the Australia series. However, when required, Pant can also play slow for the team and that was exactly what he showed in today’s match. He took 105 balls to score his half-century, which is a low enough strike rate for a player like Rishabh Pant. However, as soon as he tried to hit it hard (after completing his fifty), the youngster got in trouble. On the very next delivery, Rishabh Pant played it straight into the hands of bowler Moeen Ali to give away his wicket cheaply.

After his dismissal, Rishabh Pant lost his cool and hit his pads with the bat out of frustration. He was playing well but a single mistake cost him his wicket. Probably that was what frustrated the 23-year old.
