In his first over, Australian left-arm spinner Kuhnemann claims a significant wicket by dismissing the in-form batter for India, Rohit. Although Rohit had escaped a couple of close calls in the previous over, he failed to make the most of his chances. Australia can breathe a sigh of relief as their missed opportunities did not cost them much.

Rohit attempts to regain momentum by attacking Kuhnemann after watching a couple of balls spin, but he is deceived by the flight of the ball. It dips and spins away from his swinging blade, beating him, and Carey completes the dismissal behind the stumps. Replays show that it was excellent glovework from Carey as the ball bounced and was not an easy catch to make.

Earlier, Rohit Sharma won the toss at the Holkar Stadium and decided to bat first. The hosts have made two changes to their lineup, with Shubman Gill replacing KL Rahul and Umesh Yadav coming in for Mohammad Shami, who has been rested for this match.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 has arrived in Indore, where the hosts are determined to continue their dominant form and strive for a 3-0 lead to secure a place in the World Test Championship finale. In the meantime, the Australian team, captained by Steve Smith, will be focused on bouncing back since they are currently without the services of Pat Cummins.

The first over of the match was quite eventful! Rohit had two narrow escapes, including an LBW appeal that was referred for ball-tracking (at 0.4). The tracking revealed three reds, indicating that Australia had missed two chances to get him out. It remains to be seen how much these missed opportunities will cost the Australian team.
