Rohit receives a short delivery from Starc and doesn’t hesitate to take advantage of it. The pitch’s slowness doesn’t matter, as he spots the length promptly and swings his bat powerfully. The ball soars over the long leg boundary for a six, proving that you can’t bowl short to Rohit.

During Day 3 of the fourth and final Test against Australia, Team India captain Rohit Sharma achieved a significant feat by joining an elite list of India’s batting stalwarts. Early in his innings in the first innings, Rohit surpassed the 17,000-run mark in international cricket.

He is now the sixth Indian cricketer to achieve this milestone. Other Indian batters who have achieved this feat include Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Rohit Sharma accomplished the milestone in 438 international matches, comprising 49 Tests, 241 ODIs, and 148 T20Is. Despite his impressive start, he could not capitalize on it as he was dismissed for 35 off 58 deliveries.

Rohit Sharma had a blistering start to the series, scoring 120 in the first innings of the Nagpur Test last month. However, the subsequent two Tests did not provide a favorable pitch for batsmen, as Rohit only managed scores of 32, 31, 12, and 12 in the next four innings.
