Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings comfortably by 7 wickets with 15 balls to spare at Abu Dhabi. Being put to bat first, CSK imposed a target of 190 in front of Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals. Rajasthan need to win every game from now so that they can end up qualifying for the playoffs with 14 points. CSK who have already booked their spot for the playoffs are top of the table.

Ruturaj’s Gaikwad maiden century helped Chennai reach 189/4 at the completion of 20 overs. While chasing the huge total at Abu Dhabi, RR openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Evin Lewis got off to a flying start. The two made an explosive start to the innings and were dealing in just sixes. RR managed to score 81 with the loss of Evin Lewis wicket at the completion of 20 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was removed by Shardul Thakur just after the end of the powerplay. Jaiswal scored a quickfire 50 off 21 deliveries with 6 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 238.10.
Shivam Dube smashed a fifty and guided his team to a comfortable 7 wicket victory. Dube scored an unbeaten 64 off 42 deliveries which composed of 4 fours and 4 sixes. Glenn Phillips also contributed in the process by scoring 14 off 8 deliveries.

However, a hilarious incident took place when Sam Curran was handed the ball in the 17th over. While bowling the third ball of the over, the ball slipped out of Curran’s hands. Glenn Phillips tried his best to get to the ball. He almost ran to the backwards square leg region way out of his reach. The on-field umpire signaled it as a ‘NO BALL’. The players and the commentators couldn’t stop themselves from laughing. Both Phillips and Sam Curran shared smiles with each other.

Phillips utilized the ‘FREE HIT’ and smashed four runs in the extra cover region. Curran bowls a short of a length delivery, Phillips moves towards the leg side and struck the ball really hard.
