On the third day of the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy test in the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), India’s first innings ended at 400 runs in 139.3 overs. In this manner, the Indian team successfully made a lead of 223 runs against Australia.

Ravi Ashwin is a seasoned bowler who excels in targeting left-handed batsmen. In his delivery, he mainly bowled full length to tease Usman Khawaja into driving the ball. However, it was a trap set by Ashwin. Khawaja, thinking he could attempt another drive, played a big shot, only to find the ball turning away from him, resulting in a thick outside edge that was easily caught by Virat at slip.

India had made 321 runs at the end of the second day’s play, with the loss of seven wickets, where Ravindra Jadeja scored 66 runs and Akash Patel scored 52 runs. On the third day, both batsmen continued their innings.

However, Jadeja only managed to score 70 runs with the help of nine boundaries before getting clean bowled by Australian bowler T. Murphy. After Jadeja’s dismissal, Mohammed Shami came in to bat for the crease.

Meanwhile, Patel also played a brilliant innings. Shami teamed up with Patel and contributed with 52 runs in a brilliant partnership. However, Shami did not stay on the crease for long and only scored 37 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 3 fours from 47 balls.
