Suresh Raina was renowned for his inside-out shot over the off-side during his prime in the IPL. However, in the World Championship of Legends match against the West Indies Champions on July 5, Raina lost his wicket while attempting his trademark shot.
Batting against the West Indies Champions’ off-spinner Ashley Nurse, Suresh Raina danced down the track in the fifth over, attempting to loft the ball over the covers for a boundary.
However, Nurse’s clever off-spin deceived Raina, who missed the shot entirely. The ball went to wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton, who promptly stumped Raina while he was stranded outside his crease.
Raina scored 19 runs off 12 balls before being dismissed by Ashley Nurse. His quick cameo helped stabilize the India Champions after Samuel Badree had dismissed Naman Ojha for a duck.
India Champions went on to score 229/5 and eventually won the match by 27 runs via the D/L method.
