Brett Lee delivery that retired Unmukt Chand: Former Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand has officially announced his retirement from Cricket in India at an early age of 28. Unmukt Chand, who was once deemed to be the next big thing in Indian Cricket after Virat Kohli, crashed down from Hundred to zero in his career real quick. As a captain, he won the U-19 Cricket World Cup for India in the year 2012, but has since failed to impress at other big stages as a senior cricketer. However, there was one specific incident which occurred in IPL 2013, which steered his way out of the Indian cricket scenario. A tragic end indeed to the career of a cricketer with a huge potential.

Unmukt Chand was bought by Delhi Daredevils (Now Delhi Capitals) in the year 2013 with great hopes. The youngster was in his prime at that point and was predicted to be the emerging player that season. Unfortunately that was not to be. In the first match of IPL 2013, Delhi Daredevils faced Kolkata Knight Riders. Unmukt Chand was making his IPL debut in that match and he faced KKR’s Brett Lee on the first ball. On the very first ball, the Australian pace king tossed off Chand’s off stump, clean bowling him and thus bringing upon a humiliating debut match dismissal for Unmukt Chand. The youngster never really moved on from then and that marked the beginning of the end of Unmukt Chand’s career.

However, Unmukt Chand has not given up on Cricket completely. He will now play for the national cricket team of the United States of America (USA). USA have lately started focusing on Cricket as a sport and they are inviting players from all over the world to join their team. Unmukt received the same invitation and decided to take the leap of faith.
