WATCH: Umpire signals Dwayne Bravo’s bizarre delivery as a ‘WIDE’

During the 50th match of the IPL, between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, Dwayne Bravo bowls a delivery which goes miles outside off.

Winning the toss, DC skipper Rishabh Pant put CSK to bat first at The Dubai International Stadium. This match will decide who will finish at the top of the table. Rishabh Pant came up with one change in their playing XI as Ripal Patel makes his debut in place of Steve Smith. While MS Dhoni came up with three changes. He replaced Sam Curran with Dwayne Bravo while KM Asif and Suresh Raina were replaced by Deepak Chahar and Robin Uthappa.

CSK got off to a flying start with boundaries flowing all over the pitch. But both the openers were removed within the powerplay overs. Robin Uthappa and Moeen Ali also failed to contribute as CSK were struggling at 62/4 at 8.3 overs. MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu took the innings further as CSK scored 136/5 after the completion of 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu scored an unbeaten 55 off 43 deliveries which comprised of 5 fours and 2 sixes at a strike rate of 127.91.

While chasing the target, Prithvi Shaw was dismissed early in the innings after scoring 18 off 12 deliveries. But that did not affect Shikhar Dhawan as he was constantly hitting boundaries. But Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and debutant Ripal Patel spend time in the pitch but did not stick around for much longer. However, Shardul Thakur shifted the momentum towards his side by removing Shikhar Dhawan and Ravichandran Ashwin in the 15th over.

Shimron Hetmyer and Axar Patel took the match forward for Delhi. DC required 6 in the final over when MS Dhoni handed the ball to Dwayne Bravo. While bowling to Hetmyer in the 2nd ball of the over, the ball slipped out of Bravo’s hands went miles outside off. The keeper had no chance to retrieve it as the ball didn’t even hit the pitch. The ball rolled towards the short third man and Josh Hazlewood collected the delivery. Instead of giving a ‘NO BALL’ the TV umpire signalled it as a ‘WIDE’ since it went past the full pitch.
