WATCH: Unmukt Chand scores a sensational Half-Century in Minor League Cricket

Former Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand made quite the headline when he announced his retirement from Indian National Cricket and decided to pursue the sport in the United States of America, a nation that is inviting cricketers from all across the world to have a full-fledged project with a goal of making USA a powerhouse in the Gentlemen’s game too.

Amid many controversies, the ex-Indian U-19 captain rose above the national barriers and reached the United States of America, with the sole purpose of playing in their Minor League Cricket, and endeavour launched by American Cricket Enterprise with the same purpose of elevating the sport in their nation.

The brand new tournament boasts the participation of as many as 27 teams that are divided into groups like the Atlantic and the Pacific. The Tournament kicked off on 31st July. However, it was not until a week or two earlier that Unmukt Chand joined his teammates at Silicon Valley Strikers (The MLC franchise he is playing in).

The former Indian cricketer has already started to wrought havoc in the tournament and has marked his entry with a fabulous Fifty that he completed in just 51 balls against the Golden State Grizzlies.

Unmukt Chand was evidently very proud of his achievement as he posted a video of the same on his official twitter handle using the caption, “First official 50 on U.S soil”.

The Minor League Cricket is expected to be a turning point in the career of Unmukt Chand. Ever since his debut in the Indian Premier League, his career graph has always had a downward trajectory and playing in different conditions like that in USA, might be extremely beneficial for him.
