On the other hand, India has already secured their place in the World Test Championship final, thanks to New Zealand’s thrilling 2-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Christchurch.
For India to secure a spot in the WTC final, they had two choices: to beat Australia by a margin of 3-1 or to rely on New Zealand’s success. Even if Sri Lanka wins their upcoming Test match, they will only reach 52.78 points, which is still less than India’s 56.94 points even if India loses the Ahmedabad Test.
