A cricketing legend, MS Dhoni, has left an indelible mark in the world of cricket. His success as the captain of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is unmatched, having led the team to three ICC titles. Although he retired from international cricket in 2020, he remains a stalwart for CSK in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Despite widespread speculation that IPL 2023 may be his last season, Dhoni’s fanbase remains unwavering, spanning cities such as Kolkata, Jaipur, and Lucknow. Dhoni himself has alluded to this being the “last phase” of his career, but neither he nor CSK have made an official announcement regarding his retirement.

During the toss of the IPL 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow, Danny Morrison asked MS Dhoni, “Is this your last tour? It seems to be a wonderful swansong for you. Are you enjoying it?”

MS Dhoni responded with a smile, “You have decided it’s my last (smiles), not me. We’ll bowl first. Since the wicket was covered and looks a bit tacky, we’ll opt to bowl first. It’s important to consider the conditions and venue. Deepak (Chahar) is fit, so he will replace Akash (Singh), while the rest of the team remains unchanged.”

In their IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants on Wednesday, Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first. Krunal Padya, the LSG all-rounder, is leading the team due to regular captain KL Rahul being sidelined with a severe thigh injury.

CSK has made one change in their squad, bringing in pace bowler Deepak Chahar in place of Akash Singh. Meanwhile, LSG has included Manan Vohra and Karan Sharma in their playing XI.
