Mumbai Indians took to the field on Thursday, eager for a win to stay in the race for the knockout stages. They started off strong by breaking the successful opening partnership of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine in the very first over.
Nuwan Thushara from Sri Lanka outsmarted Salt with a slower delivery, but then chaos ensued during what should have been a routine catch.
During the fourth ball of the over, Salt’s attempted flick resulted in a leading edge, sending the ball high towards point. Tilak Varma sprinted from deep while Naman Dhir rushed in from the boundary.
They collided midway, almost dropping the catch, but miraculously, Tilak managed to secure it as they fell to the ground. Initially, Naman seemed frustrated, gesturing that Tilak should have listened to his call.

However, they soon laughed it off as teammates gathered around. Twitter users quickly commented on the amusing catch, which could have had serious consequences for Mumbai.
