On Friday, the India vs Sri Lanka ODI series came to a close with India pocketing the series 2-1. India delivered a strong performance in the first game but barely managed to win the second one. In the third ODI also, India was in a comfortable position before a spirited Sri Lanka came back to win the match.
Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged Man of the Series in his debut series. However, it was his Mumbai Indians’ teammate, Ishan Kishan whose video went viral post the final One Day International. Ishan was on the bench for the game as team India had decided to give its newcomers a chance to play. As many as five players made their debut in the match.

Will Ishan Kishan make his way to the T20 World Cup?
The Indian wicket-keeper batsman made both his ODI and T20I debut this year. He managed to score a boundary on the first ball in both these games and also managed to score a half-century. However, he failed to impress in his second outing in both formats. With plenty of other emerging batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav, Rishab Pant, Shreyas Iyer, it will be difficult for Ishan Kishan to cement a slot for team India in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
However, the IPL and the T20 WC being played in the same venues will give him a fighting chance. A solid performance in the IPL could help him leap over the national side. He had a wonderful outing in UAE, the last time was played there, scoring over 500 runs in the victorious campaign for Mumbai Indians, so a similar kind of performance can be expected from him.
