Probable 15-man squad of Team India for the 2021 T20 World Cup

The T20 World Cup is finally set to commence on this coming 17th October in the United Arab Emirates and Oman after being initially scheduled to be held much earlier. The tournament was initially scheduled to take place in India but had to be later shifted due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.

Many of the participating teams have already started announcing their final squads for the much awaited tournament. However, there has been a huge hype and a cloud of confusion regarding the squad of Team India for the upcoming T20 World Cup. After much stipulation, BCCI has now confirmed that they will be announcing India’s final squad after the 4th test of the ongoing series between India and England is done with. Till then, the Board will make some final tweaks and changes and they will firmly reconsider their decisions.

However, sports media and news outlet Sports Tak has come up with their predicted squad of Team India for the 2021 T20 World Cup and they are pretty sure that there will be little to no changes in the final list.

The 15-man squad of India predicted by Sports Tak looks like this:

  1. Virat Kohli (C)
  2. Rohit Sharma (VC)
  3. KL Rahul
  4. Suryakumar Yadav
  5. Rishabh Pant
  6. Hardik Pandya
  7. Ravindra Jadeja
  8. Yuzvendra Chahal
  9. Jasprit Bumrah
  10. Mohammed Shami
  11. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
  12. Deepak Chahar
  13. Mohammed Siraj
  14. Shreyas Iyer
  15. Washington Sundar or Ravichandran Ashwin or Rahul Chahar or Varun Chakravarthy

The squad looks overall balanced and strong. However, the middle order and bowling might be a problem for India if none of the main team players click under pressure.
