According to reports, English batsman Liam Livingstone is set to miss the first few matches of the upcoming second phase of IPL 2021 that is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates. This is going to be a huge blow for Rajasthan Royals, the IPL franchise Livingstone plays in as the Royals will already be missing a number of their star players owing to either injuries or personal reasons.

Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer have all pulled out from the UAE leg of IPL 2021 due to personal reasons, mental health awareness and injury respectively. The list of injuries in the Rajasthan Royals camp runs deep and Liam Livinsgtone will be yet another addition to it. However, it is just for a few days and the English big-hitter is expected to be back with the team after 2-3 matches.

Liam Livingstone has been in tremendous form in the ongoing ‘The Hundred’ tournament which is a new competition started in England this year in which only hundred balls are played. Over 8 teams have participated in this innovative new league and Lima Livingstone plays in Birmingham Phoenix, one of the participating teams. The 28-year old finished as the highest run getter in the new tournament and also bagged the highest sixes in the tournament which speaks a lot about the form he is currently in. Rajasthan Royals were expecting him to play a key role in their title hopes this season and take up the responsibility in Jos Buttler’s absence.
Liam Livingstone suffered the injury in a Division 1 County Championship in the match between Lancashire and Warwickshire. During the match, Livingstone hurt his shoulder while attempting to save a boundary.
