Ravindra Jadeja is one of the best all-rounders in the world. The Saurashtra born cricketer has a massive impact in the limited overs game. Jadeja is a left-handed batsman and a left arm orthodox spinner who plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Jadeja was a part of India’s U-19 team which won the World Cup in 2008 under captain Virat Kohli. He made his ODI debut for India against Sri Lanka in 2009. He scored 60 runs off 77 runs. Jadeja made his test debut in 2012 against England.
In 2012 Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rupees 9.8 crores, making him the most expensive player in that year’s auction. Since then, Jadeja has played 191 matches in IPL in which he has scored 2290 runs with a strike rate of 128 which includes two fifties. Jadeja has been phenomenal with the leather as well. He has taken 120 wickets at an economy of 7.63. He has also taken a five-wicket haul in the league.
Jadeja is till date one of the most reliable options for skipper MS Dhoni when it comes to breaking partnerships. Jadeja has been a crucial player for CSK as he provides an extra cushion with his batting abilities besides being a bowler by trade.
In the 1st leg of the 2021 edition of IPL, Jadeja has picked up 6 wickets in 7 games for CSK. With the willow he has scored 131 runs with a strike rate of 161.72. Jadeja has scored an unbeaten 62 runs off 28 deliveries against RCB this season. He struck 37 runs in the final over which included 5 sixes and a single four.

Recently, CSK Fans Army posted an interesting question for its fans on their Twitter handle. The question was: “Who would be your pick to captaining the CSK team after MSD?”
Jadeja tweeted number 8 in reply to the tweet. Jadeja’s jersey wears the number 8 jersey for CSK. However, Jadeja deleted the tweet soon after replying to it. The fans were quick enough to take a screenshot.
MS Dhoni has been the most successful captain in IPL and is only behind Rohit Sharma. MSD has guided CSK to three IPL trophies. Under his leadership CSK has qualified for playoffs in every season except the 2020 edition of IPL.
