The Sri Lankan Men’s Cricket team is going through the worst phase in their history right now. Nothing seems to be going in their favour and the Lankans are weakening themselves with internal clashes in their management. After being whitewashed by England on the latter’s homeground in the ODI and the T20 series, they also lost the ODI series against India. Fortunately they managed to eke out a win in the final match of the series, thanks to the 6-big changes made in India’s playing XI. However, they failed to utilise the winning momentum and lost the first T20 match two days ago. As it now stands, the Lankans are set to suffer some massive injury blows as well.

Three players of Sri Lanka are set to miss the second match of the ongoing T20 series against India, owing to injuries. 29-year-old batsman Bhanuka Rajpaksa has been ruled out of the entire series owing to a finger injury that he contracted during his brilliant knock of 65 runs in the third ODI that led Sri Lanka to victory. It was due to the same injury that he failed to feature in the first T20I against India.

The second player who is out injured, is top-order-batsman Pathum Nissanka. The Lankan got hit on his arm in a net session on Sunday and is awaiting the results of his scan. Charith Asalanka, who has been in terrific form in the series against India, is the third Sri Lankan who is doubtful to start the third T20 match against India. Asalanka was the second highest run-getter in the ODI series and also played decently well in the first T20 where he scored 44 off 26. Charith Asalanka injury will be a big loss for Sri Lanka.
