The first one day international match between India and New Zealand is happening in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma have won the toss and elect to bat first. India set the target of 350 runs for New Zealand.

The opener batsman Shubman Gill played a sensational knock in this game. He smashed a brilliant double century in this match. He scored 208 runs in just 149 balls with the help of 19 fours and 9 huge sixes. He completed his double century with a superb six on the ball of Kiwi pacer Lockie Ferguson in the 49th over of the match.

In the match, third umpire involved in a controversial decision of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Mitchell to Hardik Pandya, out Bowled!! An absolute freakish dismissal if there ever was one! Bonus wicket for the Black Caps perhaps. The bail clearly fell forward, which means it should have been flicked by the keeper’s glove. The TV umpire seems to have missed it. Will surely be a talking point today. Was an in-angler, cramped Hardik for room on the cut and the extra bounce meant that he missed it completely.

The bail came off and NZ appealed for a bowled dismissal. They weren’t entirely sure, more so Latham who was behind the stumps. Question really was whether it was the keeper’s glove that disturbed the bails. Very tight on the replays to be fair, although it did seem like the keeper’s deflection maybe, just maybe. The third ump though rules it in favour of Latham, and a perplexed Hardik walks off unhappy. A wicket against the run of play and a much-needed one for the visitors.

Here is the clip of that video:
