Virat Kohli refutes the reports claiming that he charges 11 Crore for each Instagram post

A recent news article gained significant traction on various social media platforms, alleging that Virat Kohli, the prominent Indian cricketer, commands an impressive sum of 11.45 crore rupees for each of his Instagram posts. On August 12, Kohli utilized his Twitter account to provide clarity on the matter, asserting that the information regarding his social media earnings is inaccurate.

This narrative emerged subsequent to an ‘Instagram Rich List’ published by Hopper HQ, a post-scheduling website, on August 9. The list detailed the niches, locations, followers, and the ‘cost per post’ for renowned celebrities. Among these, the Indian cricketer secured the 14th position and was the third athlete mentioned after football stars Cristiano Ronaldo (26.7 crore rupees) and Lionel Messi (21.5 crore rupees). The news spread across social media platforms, leaving Indian cricket enthusiasts astonished.

On the same day, August 12, Virat Kohli took to Twitter to debunk the claim of charging 11.45 crore rupees per post on Instagram. His tweet read, “While I am grateful and indebted for all that I’ve received in life, the news circulating about my social media earnings is untrue.”

It is pertinent to note that Virat Kohli holds a special place in the hearts of many as a beloved Indian cricketer, boasting an Instagram following of 256 million. Nevertheless, the viral report omitted any explanation of the metrics or methodologies utilized to calculate the ‘cost per post’.

Although Kohli’s tweet addressed the public’s curiosity, social media users remained intrigued by the actual figures. Cricket enthusiasts were eager to ascertain whether his earnings aligned with or deviated from the sum presented in the viral report.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is set to participate in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to commence on August 30. Following his commendable performance in the recently concluded two-match test series against the West Indies, the star batsman aims to sustain his exemplary form during the Asia Cup.

Team India faces challenges in the middle order due to the unavailability of players such as KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer, all sidelined due to injuries. Given the relative inexperience in this sector, the team management places high expectations on Virat Kohli to maintain his peak performance in the forthcoming major tournaments.
