WATCH: England players caught Ball-tampering On Camera – Fans demand severe punishment

In an unexpected turn of events, two England players have been caught tampering with the ball with the spike of their shoes on camera. The incident took place in the 34th over when Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteswhar Pujara were batting and could even be seen on the television screens. Indian fans burst out in anger by seeing the event and opened up on their frustration against the hypocrisy of the England Cricket Board and International Council for Cricket when Team India comes into consideration.

Although two players have been seen on camera, one of the players has not been identified as his face was not shown. The other player who was tampering with the ball with his spikes is Mark Wood, the English bowler who has already picked up 2 wickets in India’s second innings of the second test.

Indian fans on twitter are referring to the Australian Sandpaper gate incident which saw a number of Australian players including the then captain Steve Smith and Vice Captain David Warner being banned from all formats of cricket for almost over a year.

The fans have started demanding a similar, or if anything, an even more severe punishment for the English players who were involved in the act. As of now, the game is continuing without a delay and no step has been taken whatsoever.

Many known figures have opened up after the incident went viral and one of them was former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag. He wrote on twitter “Yeh kya ho raha hai. Is it ball tampering by Eng ya covid preventive measures”
