Sunrisers Hyderabad, having already been eliminated from the race to the playoffs, faced another disappointing start in their match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. By the end of the fifth over, their score stood at 33/2, courtesy of two breakthroughs by Michael Bracewell from RCB.

Although the visitors managed to restrict the opposing batters during the powerplay, their wasteful use of a review drew significant attention.

During the third over of the innings, Mohammed Siraj bowled a delivery outside off to Abhishek Sharma, angling away from the batter. Anuj Rawat, the wicketkeeper, believed he had heard a nick as he collected the ball.

Siraj himself was confident that Abhishek had made contact with the ball, signaling a dismissal. Siraj’s conviction led him to insist on a review to overturn the decision.

Despite the skipper’s trust in Siraj’s judgment, they opted for the Decision Review System (DRS). However, the snickometer showed no spike, proving Siraj’s judgment to be completely incorrect. Consequently, the team lost their review, and the Indian pacer faced significant criticism on Twitter following the incident.
