Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer Harshal Patel has just achieved an unbelievable feat in the ongoing match between RCB and Mumbai Indians in the second phase of IPL 2021. RCB have not won any of the matches in the second phase so far and this is their third match. At one point, when the opening duo of Rohit Sharma and Quinton De Kock was raining sixes, it looked like RCB were on the verge of losing this match as well but then Harshal Patel came in and changed the entire fate of the game.
Mumbai’s big hitters Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya were batting when RCB captain Virat Kohli sent in Harshal Patel to restrict them from scoring runs as the run rate of Mumbai Indians was going way too high. Let alone disappointing his captain, he even bettered the expectations. Harshal Patel completed his hattrick in three successive deliveries to completely dismantle Mumbai Indians’ batting order and shatter their hopes of winning the match.
It was the 17th over in which all of it happened. The first wicket came in the form of on-strike batsman Hardik Pandya. Caught by Virat Kohli. In the very next bowl he clean bowled danger man Kieron Pollard and then went on the lbw Rahul Chahar to complete his hattrick.
It was a very special moment for not only the player but also for the entire team. The pacer ran all around the team along with his teammates to celebrate his hattrick. Captain Virat Kohli patted his back and celebrated alongside him. He was very happy as well.
It was only due to Harshal Patel’s hattrick that Royal Challengers Bangalore could register their first victory of the second phase of IPL 2021.
