The decision by Delhi Capitals to bat first after winning the toss sparked discussion, especially when they found themselves under pressure early on against the new ball.

Mitchell Starc and Vaibhav Arora claimed the first three wickets, but Abishek Porel and Rishabh Pant worked hard to counter the other KKR bowlers, guiding their team to a 67-run powerplay.

However, Porel’s innings was cut short by a clever piece of bowling from local lad Harshit Rana, who followed it up with an animated send-off.

In the seventh over, after a couple of dot balls, Rana delivered a well-directed ball aiming for the stumps against Porel. Anticipating a flashy shot, Porel shuffled across the crease to scoop the ball, only to be deceived by the change of pace, resulting in his stumps being rattled.

Rana erupted in celebration, giving Porel a send-off gesture towards the dugout. He was momentarily tempted to blow a kiss, reminiscent of a previous incident with Agarwal against Sunrisers Hyderabad, but quickly restrained himself, mindful of the consequences.
