In the first match of the three-match T20 International series, India defeated Ireland by 2 runs under the DLS method. While batting first, Ireland set a score of 139 runs, losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. However, when Team India came out to chase, rain interrupted the game in the 7th over.

The match couldn’t resume after the rain delay, and due to the DLS method, India was 2 runs ahead under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method when rain had interrupted play earlier. This led to Ireland facing a loss.

For India, the good news in this match was Jasprit Bumrah’s form. Making a comeback to international cricket after a long time, Jasprit Bumrah signaled his return by taking two wickets in the very first over of the match. In this game, Bumrah bowled 4 overs, conceding only 24 runs with an economy rate of 6 and picking up 2 wickets. He was awarded the Player of the Match for his splendid performance.

Jasprit Bumrah, returning after 11 months, was looking in good form, but there was a moment during this match when it seemed like he might get injured again, yet he managed to escape narrowly. This incident was witnessed in the 14th over of the Irish innings when Washington Sundar was bowling, and on the fifth delivery of this over, Curtis Campher played a splendid shot.

After the ball struck Campher’s bat, the ball was racing towards the boundary line, but in an attempt to stop this boundary, Ravi Bishnoi and captain Jasprit Bumrah were also sprinting. Bishnoi made a diving effort to halt the ball’s progress, but he couldn’t prevent it from crossing the boundary line. Meanwhile, as Bishnoi was attempting the dive, Bumrah had also reached his vicinity.

In order to avoid a collision and a possible injury, Bumrah leapt over Bishnoi. During this sequence, Bumrah lost his balance and ended up crashing into the advertising hoardings beyond the boundary line. Fortunately for Bumrah, luck was on his side, otherwise he could have suffered an injury once again. The video of this incident is rapidly going viral on social media.
